I grew up in Southern California where we had lots of Bird of Paradise lavishly blooming with their richly colored flowers that seem so exotic.

I have always loved tropical plants and settings.  

Bird of Paradise flowers also remind me of other wonderful places I have seen them in like Florida and Hawaii.
