The flatirons are a beautiful, iconic rock formation at Chautauqua, in the foothills of Boulder.
They have a dramatic presence sculpted of sandstone, tilted at an angle and rising in chiseled peaks to meet the Colorado sky.
I have wanted to paint them ever since we moved up here.
The flatirons represent the awe and beauty of Boulder and Colorado.
