I know, I know, it may seem cliché to think of hearts and love around Valentine’s Day but I can’t help it.

I wanted to make at least a few new things with hearts because it really is a lovely symbol to remind you of what and who you love.

Love comes to us in so many different ways.

Romantic love
Love of family and friends
Loving what you do
A passion for life
Love for our pets
Spiritual love
Love for a cause

An Earring Challenge

I never realized that I don’t really worry about “matching” earrings because

I often wear things that coordinate rather than an exact match.

It might be a similar color or shape or texture that just “goes” with the other jewelry.

However, now that I know that a lot of people do want a specific match and I will be creating more sets in the future.

I had one customer who bought the Love and Luxury necklace

and really wanted matching earrings, with the exact same look.

That was more of a challenge than I expected because the technique

I used to make the necklace just didn’t work well for earrings.

And I didn’t have enough of the same red beads.

I ended up using a woven method to create the bronze wire hoops and

added red-orange and purple crystals that matched the color of the necklace,

but had the right scale for the earrings.

I accepted the challenge and she likes her new matching earrings.

It was a happy ending.
